What would it look like to faithfully center your family around Scripture—not occasionally, but consistently over years of ordinary life?

That is the question at the heart of the very first edition of Biblearc Field Notes.
In this opening newsletter, Andrew J. Hubert shared a simple but deeply practical encouragement for fathers and families: God has not left us wondering what faithful discipleship in the home should look like. In Deuteronomy 6:4–9, we are given clear marching orders—to love God wholeheartedly and to diligently place his Word before our families in the everyday rhythms of life.
As Andrew wrote, the call to center our families around God’s Word is nothing less than “The Great Commission of the Old Testament.”
That may sound overwhelming at first. Many believers long to lead their homes well but simply do not know where to begin. Perhaps they did not grow up with family devotions themselves. Perhaps consistency feels intimidating. Perhaps life already feels too busy.
But one of the strengths of Biblearc Field Notes is that it takes deep biblical truth and makes it practical.
In this first edition, Andrew introduced a simple framework called R.A.C.E. to help families begin regular devotional times together:
  • Read the text
  • Ask questions and invite discussion
  • Connect the passage to Christ and the gospel
  • Explore personal application
The beauty of the encouragement is its simplicity. Start small. Open the Bible. Read together. Talk about what God has said. Keep going even when it feels difficult or unproductive.
Because over time, faithful habits around God’s Word shape lives.
Andrew reminded readers to expect the process to be challenging at times. Family devotions may feel awkward at first. Attention may wander. Certain passages may feel difficult to understand. Yet the long-term fruit of centering a family around Scripture is immeasurable.
As he wrote:
“Over years of faithful obedience in centering your family around God’s word, you will have many routine devotional times…and others that will change your family’s lives forever.”
That captures the heart behind Biblearc Field Notes.
This newsletter exists to encourage believers toward deeper engagement with Scripture—not merely as an academic exercise, but as a means of knowing, loving, and following Christ more faithfully in everyday life.
Whether through practical study encouragements, reflections on Scripture, or tools to help believers handle God’s Word carefully, Biblearc Field Notes aims to strengthen ordinary Christians for long-term faithfulness.
