Markup

The 7 Lenses of Bible Study

Students of the Bible have been taking pen in hand to underline the text of Scripture and add notes to the margins of their Bibles for generations. Adding markups and notes is an effective way to slow down your reading in order to carefully observe what the text says and meditate on its meaning and implications for your life.

Biblearc’s Markup Course will equip believers with carefully composed strategies for marking up the text of Scripture. Employing these “lenses” in your study will empower you to behold far more than you might otherwise see.

Workload

This course is composed of ten lessons. Each lesson contains interactive questions throughout and ends with an assignment. A single lesson will take the average student three to four hours to complete. Students are invited to progress at their own pace, but we encourage you to make a plan for steady progress and to stick to that plan. Your coach will inquire as to your intended pace shortly after you begin and help keep you accountable to stay on schedule.

Assessment

Path courses all end with an assessment to determine your grasp of the skills learned and material covered. Students will turn-in a course project (outlined in lesson 1) that will serve as an assessment. Successfully passing an assessment requires a high degree of understanding and is meant to serve as a motivation to take your study seriously as well as a catalyst to improve the standard of Bible study in the Biblearc community.
Students who successfully complete the course and pass the assessment will earn Biblearc’s Markup Certificate (see sample). They will also earn exciting rewards.
If you do not pass an assessment, you may retry after one week’s time.
