Lesson 8 | Levels of logic
Review
Be sure to grab the low-hanging fruit!
But before you do, let's review.
What we learned in this lesson
The low-hanging fruit represents the places where the connections seem most clear.
Make connections within sentences before moving to the bigger pieces.
Start with the major units.
Draw brackets and then indicate relationships
The scope of each side of a relationship is determined by establishing how far either side of the relationship extends.
In the Bracketing module, you can change the scope by grabbing the dot and moving the bracket up or down.
You can also change the scope by creating a new bracket underneath an existing one.
What conjunctions connect:
Conjunctions between single words or noun phrases do not concern us.
Conjunctions usually connect the pieces before and after them, but...
A conjunction can come before the first piece.
Distinct conjunctions may also appear one after the other and yet be connecting different pieces.
Back-to-back conjunctions are distinct, indicating different connections.
