Lesson 5 | Support by contrary statement

Event or logic oriented

In time and space or timelessly true?

For two different pairs of logical relationships, this is the key question in determining the relationship to choose. When you are uncertain whether you are dealing with an Inference or an Action-Result, ask yourself the question, “Do both of the pieces of this relationship speak to a particular point or period of time?” If so, you are dealing with events and Action-Result is the appropriate relationship. If not, then there is a logical argument being made and Inference is going to be a better fit.

The same goes for Situation-Response and Concessive. Situation-Response is event-oriented whereas Concessive is logical.
