Lesson 10 | Bracketing the Bible

Where to go from here

Practice, practice, practice

You have almost finished the course! This beckons the question of how you can continue to get better at bracketing. The first answer to this, of course, is practice, practice, practice. Perhaps you want to continue working your way through Philippians. Or you may want to begin bracketing through another place in the Bible. Whatever the case may be, one thing is for sure. Bracketing is not going to stick unless you put it into practice.

Take the Arcing Path Course

You may also want to take another course. As mentioned in the first lesson, and as will be described at length in the next step, Arcing and Bracketing are the same Bible study method only with different graphical representations. Nonetheless, Biblearc offers courses in both, each with unique examples and homework assignments. The teaching approach also differs between the two, making the Arcing Path Course an excellent option for those who feel the need for further reenforcement.
In addition, the Arcing Path Course is taught at a little faster pace and includes a handful more advanced aspects such as determining “the deeper relationship” and working through a “macro arc.”

Take the Didactics Path Course

On the other hand, if you feel you have a strong grasp of Bracketing, you may be interested in Didactics. This course was created to serve as a bridge between studying a text with Bracketing (or Arcing or Phrasing), and teaching that text to others with power and faithfulness.

Take a live course

Finally, we also offer live courses periodically, meant for those who already have a basic grasp of Bracketing. These courses focus on working through different biblical genres and hence are entitled as follows: The logic of the epistles, The flow of biblical narrative, The main point of Bible sermons and The theology of biblical poetry. Keep your eyes open for when these become available.
