We must teach “a Bible-shaped word in a Bible-like way.”
In other words, the style of our text should dictate the style of our teaching.
What we learned this lesson
The style of your teaching ought be inspired by the style and genre of the particular text you are teaching.
The structure of your teaching should also be influenced by some combination of the style and genre of the text, and our own God-given personality.
This doesn’t mean you can’t teach according to your personality, but that the Bible should shape your teaching more than your personality.
