Lesson 2 | Vocab

More Than Half

In Greek 1, we introduced 117 Greek words. If you took Greek I, memorizing them required a lot of hard work, and even more hard work is needed to review and remember them! But compared to the 5,435 words in the New Testament, that seems like a tiny, tiny number.
Don't be discouraged, though, because those 117 words occur 79,001 times in the unfoldingword Greek New Testament, which is an amazing 57% of all the 137,952 total words! So, if you open up a Greek New Testament, you already know more than half of the words you see. That is great progress!
We’ll continue to learn more vocab in Greek II, and then in Greek III and IV beyond that. So keep faithfully reviewing your vocabulary, even as we add new words to the mix, in order to increase your ability and pleasure in reading God’s Word!
