Lesson 7 | Greek Verbs and Present (Imperfective) Participles
Vocabulary
In this lesson, we will begin learning about Greek verbs. This means that you should be familiar with most of the non-verbal elements of Koine Greek. The following quiz will help you assess if you are ready to move on to this lesson on verbs. If you do not answer at least 8/10 correctly on the first try, you should review the previous lessons before moving on to this one.

New Vocabulary
Since we will begin learning about verbs in this lesson, you will learn 20 new Greek verbs in this section. You should already know six Greek verbs from previous lessons: εἰμί (I am), λέγω (I say), ἔχω (I have), γίνομαι (I am/become), ἔρχομαι (I come/go), and λύω (I untie). Like nouns, Greek verbs change their form to communicate their function. However, we will memorize verbs in the present, active, indicative, first person, singular form (I will explain these terms in Step 7.5) because Greek lexicons list verbs by this form.
I hear; I understand; I obey (verb)
I want; I will; I desire (verb)
I call; I invite; I name (verb)
I believe; I trust (verb)
