Lesson 6 | Vocab: Pronouns

Typing in Hebrew

Now that you’ve learned Hebrew consonants and vowels and things aren’t quite so new and bewildering, it is time to start typing in Hebrew.
Let’s take a few minutes to get your computer set up for this. Here are the things you will need to do:
  1. Install the Hebrew keyboard on your computer. Here is an instruction video for Windows (first 3 minutes). For Mac, simply go to System Preferences > Keyboard, click the + icon, and select “Hebrew.” (You do not need to install a special font.)
  2. To see what Hebrew letters go with what English keys, you can use the on-screen keyboard for Windows or show keyboard viewer for Mac (found by clicking the input language icon on the top-right of your screen). Alternatively, you can print out the Hebrew keyboard layout and/or get keyboard stickers.

When you’ve done that, you should be able to type the consonants of Genesis 1:1 into the box below the text.

Type the consonants of Genesis 1:1 in Hebrew (including each י and ו).
