Lesson 1 | Vocab: Numbers

Beholding Glory

Here we go: another Hebrew course! You may be feeling a mixture of excitement and trepidation as you enter this vocab lesson, knowing the importance and difficulty of memorizing words in another language.
So before you enter this first lesson, we want to encourage you: the words of the Bible reveal the glory of Jesus. With the veil over your heart gone through the power of Christ (2 Cor 3:14, 16), when you open your Old Testament and you read the black marks on the white paper, what do they reveal to you? 2 Corinthians 3:18 tells us:
“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord…”
And how did God originally reveal that glory? Through the medium of the Hebrew Scriptures. So as you learn Hebrew vocabulary and grammar, you are doing so in order to view the glory of Jesus more clearly.
And when you see Jesus’ glory, verse 18 says that you “are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.”
May God use this course as a means of transformation for you into the image of Jesus.
