Lesson 6 | About Verbs

Review

We have officially jumped into the deep end of verbs and you have not drowned! Before we continuing swimming in the deep end of Hebrew grammar, take some time to review what we have learned.

What we learned this lesson

Here’s what we learned this lesson about verbs:
  1. Verbs are the anchor of a language
  2. There are 5 parsing categories for standard verbs:
  3. stem  the template of the verb
  4. aspect  the angle of the verb
  5. person  helps identify the verb’s subject
  6. gender  helps identify the verb’s subject
  7. number  helps identify the verb’s subject
  8. Hebrew aspect is different than English tense
  9. perfect aspect = viewed as complete
  10. imperfect aspect = viewed as in progress
  11. “Aspect informs tense, but does not dictate it.”

Israel Connection: Christian Youth Conferences

Jewish-Christian youth do not have it easy in Israel. They face rejection at school, and lack connection with other believers their age since there are often no other believing families in their neighborhood. In addition, the congregations they attend are small and have few other youth to fellowship with. For this reason, several organizations have been raised up by God to provide periodic conferences to strengthen young people in their faith.
