New Vocabulary
Now it is time to learn the vocabulary words for Lesson 10. You will learn 22 new words: 16 nouns, four verbs, one adverb, and one particle. Watch for cognates next to each other to aid your memory, and practice saying the words as you study them.
“יֵשׁ אֵשׁ” is a helpful rhyme: “there is fire!”
The plural is similar to “days,” but will have a patach and dagesh: יַמִּים.
The Jordan River runs DOWN to the Dead Sea—whose surface marks the lowest land elevation on Earth.

This is identical to the noun שֵׁם, “name,” except for the vowel.
