Circle each non-prefix conjunction in black.
Highlight each qal participle in grey.
Highlight each qal perfect form yellow (for perfect) or green (for sequential-perfect).
Zigzag underline each qal perfect yellow.
Do so by highlighting it again, then choosing the zigzag option at the bottom of the pop-up box that appears, and then the selecting the yellow zigzag underline.
Translate the text using the helps under each verse.
This assignment has you work with three verses from Hebrew poetry. As in English, poetry can be more difficult to read and understand. But we have chosen it nonetheless because it is so packed with qal perfects! Keep your focus on that “aspect” of the assignment, not the difficulty of smoothing out the translation.

בָּחוּר — “young man” (בְּתוּלֹתַ֥י וּבַחוּרַ֖י are the twofold subject of נָפְל֣וּ)
נָפַל — “fall”
חֶרֶב — “sword”
הָרַג — “kill”
אַף — “anger”
טָבַח — “slaughter”
חָמַל — “spare”
