New Vocabulary
Now it is time to learn the vocabulary words for Lesson 9. You will learn 19 new words: 11 nouns and eight verbs. Watch for cognates next to each other to aid your memory, and practice saying the words as you study them.
Usually occurs with a ל prefix preposition meaning “alone.”
This name means “son of my right hand.”
These are the same consonants as בֹּקֶר from Lesson 5: “Ah, the smell of cattle in the morning!”
This is the niphal gloss. There is a related noun, יֶתֶר, used nearly 100 times, which means “remainder.”

Don’t mix this noun up with מֲלְאָךְ in Lesson 1.
