4. And Yahweh hurled a great wind to the sea, and a great storm came on the sea, and the ship thought to be broken.
5. And the sailors were afraid, and they cried out, each man to his gods. And they hurled the vessels that [were] in the ship into the sea, to lighten [it] from upon them. But Jonah had gone down into the sides of the vessel, and he had lain down and fallen asleep.
6. And the chief of the crew came near to him and said to him, “What [are] you [doing] sleeping? Arise, call to your God; perhaps God will think to us and we will not perish.”
