Lesson 6 | Text Structures: Poetry
Assignment
Instructions
Use the cheat sheet to highlight the aspect and stem of all verbs. Divide up the text into lines.
Add a space between each stanza.
Indent the subordinate clause(s) in each stanza.
Since we’re not working with a whole poem (it began in 2:3), don’t try to combine the stanzas into paragraphs.
Translate the text in the "Translation" tab.
Note: Verse 11 shifts back to narrative, thus providing an end frame to the poem, like 2:1–2 provide a beginning frame. Therefore you should treat v. 11 as narrative rather than poetry, basing your work on what we taught in Lessons 2 and 4.
Markup, divide, add spaces, indent, and translate the text.
When you are finished, continue to the next step and submit the lesson. After you do so, the instructor’s work will be available for you to review while you wait for your coach to give you feedback (typically within 3-5 days).
