Lesson 2 | Verbs—perfect
Reading: Deuteronomy 6:4-9
Vocab first
It is time to take a look at a new reading. In this case, you do not know all the vocabulary going in, but you do know half the words. Let’s take this opportunity to learn the other half before reading.
**Note: words that appear less than 40 times in the Hebrew Bible have not been placed in the vocab list.

Reading the text with helps
As in lesson one, an English gloss appears underneath the Hebrew of the words, prefixes and suffixes you have not yet learned. This means that you should be able to read everything else that is not indicated.
In addition, there are five verbs in this text with a perfect form—all of them sequential-perfects. Do your best to spot them and parse them (i.e. determine their person, gender and number). After you have done so, click on them to check yourself.
