Lesson 7: Christ as the Key

The Word of God in Its Fullness

Colossians 1:24-27¹

Prayer

Father,
Strengthen us in and through this lesson to commune with you in Christ as we learn to interpret the whole Bible with Christ as the key.
Amen.

Primary Principle

The Bible demands that we interpret it with Christ as the key.
We will unpack this principle by focusing on three key phrases:
  1. “The Bible demands...” - We will gather around Scripture to see how the Bible itself demands this interpretive principle.
  2. “...Christ as the key” - We will explore the essence of this principle.
  3. “...interpreting with...” - We will consider how this principle unlocks a lifetime of studying Scripture to see and to savor God’s glory in Christ.²

Lesson Objectives

By the end of this lesson, students will be able to...
  1. ...establish a biblical foundation for interpreting the whole Bible with Christ as the key.
  2. ...describe four ways that we interpret the whole Bible with Christ as the key.
