Lesson 10 | Main Point Summary

Assignment: 2Co 5:12–21

You’ve made it to the end of the course! And with this assignment, you will also make it all the way to the end of the 2 Corinthians 5! May you be filled with the knowledge of the truths of the New Covenant, along with all their implications.
It was a way of writing that involved a good deal of listening, looking around, getting acquainted with the neighborhood, … Not writing what I knew but writing into what I didn’t know, edging into a mystery. … Writing as a way of entering into language and letting language enter me, words connecting with words and creating what had previously been inarticulate or unnoticed or hidden. Writing as a way of paying attention. Writing as an act of prayer.
—Eugene Peterson¹
Write as a way to enter into language, to pay attention, and to pray.

Instructions:

This final assignment is just like the last one except now you will complete the study with a main point summary.
  1. Examine the brackets/relationships of the completed pieces.
  2. Place a dot note on the relationship label (or star) representing the primary point of each piece and change the color of each dot note to match the relationship.
  3. Write sub-point summaries for each piece.
  4. Combine summaries in new dot notes and complete the bracket as taught in this lesson, minimizing lower-level dot notes as you do.
  5. Write a polished, thoughtful main point summary.

Complete the bracket by writing dot note summaries at every level, and then a main point summary.

Log in / create an account to enroll or continue where you left off.
When you are finished, continue to the next step and submit the lesson. After you do so, the instructor's work will be available for you to review while you wait for your coach to give you feedback (typically within 3-5 days).
