L5: The Humanity of Christ

Memorizing Colossians 1:15-23

Since this is the last lesson of the course, let’s try one of two ways to demonstrate that you successfully memorized our passage from Colossians. (Or you can try both ways if you like!)

OPTION 1: Type out all of Colossians 1:15-23 from memory. Don't edit it after the fact, but feel free to check it for accuracy!

OPTION 2: Record yourself reciting Colossians 1, verses 15-23 by memory. (No looking at the Bible!)

Max length: 2:30

Note: For the system to allow you to submit this lesson, you will need to enter/record something in the option you did not choose.

Scripture should never leave us unaffected. Fools hear God’s words and live like they mean nothing. Wise ones hear God’s words and live out the truth that they mean everything. So, let us consider how these words about Jesus in Colossians ought to shape us by listening to a clip from Pastor H.B. Charles, Jr.:

Respond to Colossians 1:15-23 by writing a prayer of praise and by asking God to help you live in light of these words.

Digging Deeper

One simple way to dig into a passage is simply by slowing down and making careful observations. Lesson 1 from Biblearc's 2019 Advent Course: A Prophetic Christmas walks through how to observe carefully and rightly. Take some time to read through this lesson step and then make your own observations. You can even try writing your own paraphrase of the passage once you finish making observations.

(1) Markup the text; (2) Write down observations in the notes tab
