Father, sometimes we treat your Word as a mere object of intellectual study instead of as a tool you wield for our transformation and delight. Help us, whenever we are finished phrasing a passage of your Word, to see Jesus more clearly, so that we love him more dearly and follow him more nearly. It is in his name we pray. Amen.
