Lesson 2 | Searching Theology

Somewhere It Is Testified

At one point, the writer of Hebrew introduces an OT quote with the words, “It has been testified somewhere…,” and sometimes we cannot say any more about a verse we know! So before we get on with putting this lesson into practice, let us run through a few search tips for finding a verse whose location you cannot recall. As readers (not mere searchers) of the Bible, we will certainly have this need often.
Use Biblearc to search word combos and across multiple versions at once to find the verse. Include those words which are most unique and most likely to actually be in the verse. Do NOT include names of people and places that might be represented as a pronoun in the verse (e.g. “God”). Start your search with 2+ or 3+ when you are unsure which words to include.
