[W]e will not long preserve the gospel without the languages. The languages are the sheath in which this sword of the Spirit is contained; they are the casket in which the jewel is enshrined; they are the vessel in which this wine is held; they are the larder in which this food is stored. —Martin Luther, “To the Councilmen of All Cities in Germany That They Establish and Maintain Christian Schools,” in Luther's Works, ed. W. Brandt and H. Lehman (Philadelphia: Muhlenberg, 1962), 357-8.

Does Hebrew have different letters than English? Yes. Do you read it right-to-left? Yes. Does it follow completely different rules than English? Yes. Is it vital for careful and accurate Old Testament interpretation? Yes.
For that reason, Biblearc offers many Hebrew tools: the biblical text itself, textual differences, definitions of words, detailed search capabilities, four courses to teach the basics of biblical Hebrew, and more!
But, using any or all of those tools can feel overwhelming, especially for someone who has never studied the Hebrew language. If that’s you, join us for our first Hebrew Tools Seminar on Thursday, January 16 @ 3:00 PM EST. For about an hour-and-a-half, we will:
  • Explore the character of Old Testament Hebrew
  • Discover how to use Biblearc's Hebrew tools, such as:
  • Reading and highlighting the Hebrew Bible
  • Looking up English glosses for Hebrew words
  • Phrasing and arcing a Hebrew passage
  • Searching Hebrew words
  • Recognize several reasons to learn Hebrew
We pray that you will leave treasuring a knowledge of biblical Hebrew, and encouraged to use it more proficiently and explore God's Word more deeply!
