Option 1 (Fairly new to Bible study and/or paraphrasing)

  • Read Luke 1:39–56 multiple times
  • Record at least 10 observations from 1:46–55
  • Record at least 5 questions from 1:46–55
  • Optional: write a paraphrase of one to three verses from Mary’s song

Option 2 (Some experience in Bible study and paraphrasing)

  • Read Luke 1:39–56 multiple times
  • Read Luke 1:1–56 at least once
  • Record at least 15 observations from 1:46–55
  • Record at least 10 questions from 1:46–55
  • Write a paraphrase of at least 5 verses from Mary’s song

Option 3 (Experienced in Bible Study and paraphrasing)

  • Read Luke 1:39–56 multiple times
  • Read Luke 1:1–56 at least twice
  • Explore the connections between Luke 1–2 and 1 Samuel
  • 1 Sam 1:1–2 —— Luke 1:5
  • 1 Sam 1:15 —— Luke 1:11
  • 1 Sam 2:1–10 —— Luke 1:46–55
  • 1 Sam 1:24–28 —— Luke 2:21–24
  • 1 Sam 2:21, 26 —— Luke 1:80; 2:40, 52
  • 2 Sam 7:12–16 —— Luke 1:32–33
  • Record at least 20 observations from 1:46–55
  • Record at least 10 questions from 1:46–55
  • Write a paraphrase of Mary’s song
