Week 1 | Mary's Song of Praise
Course Structure
This course is composed of four lessons, with each lesson centered around a prophecy or song of praise within the birth story of Jesus in Luke 1-2. Within each lesson, we will give you a glimpse into one of the Bible study methods taught in our other courses. For those of you familiar with those methods, we trust this will prove a helpful reminder of the key aspects of each method. For those of you unfamiliar, the aim is to give you enough information to begin to apply the central principles in your assignment, and enough to understand our study together during the Facebook Live events.
As listed on the course homepage, here is an outline of the text and methods of focus:
Mary’s Song of Praise (Luke 1:46–55)
Zechariah’s Prophecy (Luke 1:67–80)
Dec. 10th at 8 pm (est) - cancelled
Angels & Shepherds (Luke 2:8–20)
Dec. 17th at 8 pm (est) - cancelled
Simeon’s Blessing (Luke 2:22–35)
In addition to these central aspects of the course, each lesson will also contain a step dedicated to suggested family activities related to the passage of study, a study guide with background information on the text, and a final step presenting student work of note.
That’s the plan. Ready to jump in?
