Lesson 2 | Adjectives
Review
Adjectives are great in that they bring grammatical clarity since they do not have exceptional forms when it comes to gender and number.
What we learned this lesson
Here’s what we learned this lesson about adjectives:
Get inflected by gender and number, and so have four basic forms
Unlike nouns, masculine adjectives always look masculine, and feminine adjectives always look feminine
Can act as nouns (called “substantival”)
Used in the attributive and predicate positions
Attributive position – adjective comes after the noun it describes
e.g. הָעָם הָרָב = “the numerous people” (definite)
e.g. עָם רָב = “a numerous people” (indefinite)
e.g. בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא= “on that day” (demonstrative pronoun example)
Predicate position
eg. הָעָם רָב= “the people are numerous”
Israel Connection: Evangelism
