Lesson 3 | Paraphrasing the Logic

Assignment: 2Co 3:4–6

Let’s continue our study of 2 Corinthians, this time focusing on tracing the logic of the passage in the text, bracket, and paraphrase.

Avoid separating the subject and verb with more than two words.¹

Instructions

  • Make an arc/bracket of 2Co 3:4–6.
  • Write a paraphrase, making sure to paraphrase the logical connectors (conjunctions) according to your arc/bracket.
  • Make all conjunctions bold in both the ESV passage and the paraphrase.
  • Make adjustments to the bracket as necessary while paraphrasing.
  • When finished, make sure that the logic of the text aligns with the logic of the bracket and paraphrase.
