Tracing logic can be hard work, especially when paraphrasing it from the first person perspective. But when you get good at it, Bible study takes on the thrill of riding a roller coaster. The biblical author wants to take you on a ride full of exciting turns and unexpected drops. So do the hard work and enjoy the ride.

  2. Tips to align the logic of the arc/bracket, text, and paraphrase:
  3. Bold every conjunction in every column of your arc/bracket.
  4. Restate the same conjunction when it is already clear.
  5. Use a synonymous conjunction when helpful.
  6. Paraphrase a conjunction with an entire phrase when necessary.
  7. Use testing conjunctions...
  8. When you meet an ambiguous conjunction.
  9. When the present conjunction’s typical usage doesn’t fit.
  10. When no conjunction is present.
  11. Don't get stumped! ...by practicing confirmation bias.
